If only we worked on all our merits as hard as we do making these boats!

Remember, this is not a real merit and no one should take this more seriously than it is. Nothing distasteful will be tolerated and anything deemed so will be deleted.

Here are the rules for this and previous merit games:

Rules recap:

1. A merit name will be posted as a new topic in The Arena. For the next four (4) days, forum members will be permitted to submit one (1) requirement for the merit per day (maximum of four (4) submissions per merit).

2. No double posting permitted. If nobody has submitted a requirement post since your last post, then you are stuck waiting on others.

3. Please keep your posts in good taste. Witty is good, puns are good, crude is not good, insults are not good. People tend to use the pseudo-anonymity of forums as a license to do and say things that they would never attempt in person. Remember, we are all Rangers here and we live by the Ranger Code.

4. Try to avoid discussing the requirement posts until the voting phase begins. This will help keep the thread uncluttered.

5. After the end of the four (4) day submission period, a new poll topic will be started in The Arena to vote on the best submission. Here is where the merits (pun intended) of all the posted requirements may be debated. The voting period will run for three (3) days. The current moderator may not vote in the poll (but will be able to cast a tie-breaker vote if necessary).

6. The winner of the vote will be awarded 50 Ranger Bucks. The winner will also be the moderator for the next merit (this prevents a single player from dominating the game). He will post a new topic (as outlined in Rule 1 above) and the game will begin anew.

1. Build a carboard boat of sufficient size to ferry an entire outposts gear across a body of water at least 100 ft in width.

Multiple trips are permitted. All the gear must arrive on the other side in dry condition, with the possible exception of the Senior Commander's gear.

Construct a sailable vessel made entirely of chocolate milk containers obtained from your school's cafeteria and duct tape. This includes one oar for every passenger and some cool viking type hats made from your school's newspaper (if applicable). Must be sturdy/strong enough to transport on entire patrol and a Lt. Commander across the 'great divide'.

BTW, i did this in fourth grade. It was great fun. Golden Bear

4. Build a 17 ft BASS BOAT out of cardboard and equip it with all the latest technology, also of cardboard (must all look real).

Paint it with high gloss watercolors and take it to Pow Wow and see if'n you can trade it for a complete set of tents to outfit yer Outpost.

Points off if it actually floats and you must return the tents when the thing sinks.

7. Build a 3 ft scale replica of Noah's Ark and stock it with as many different Male and Female BUGS as possible.

Seal them in with lots of good BUG food and float yer Ark in your Churches Baptistry (or the nearest one will do) for Fourty Days and Fourty Nights.

At the end of the Fourty Days and Nights have an Ark unloading ceremomy in your Church Sanctuary.

Extra points if'n your Sr. Pastor officiates the opening of the Ark.
