Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, so I thought the next merit should be something reflective of the season. So show me incredible thankfulness, Ranger-style!

Note: Submissions go on for the next 4 days allowing each Forum member a chance to submit up to four suggestions as long as they are only one a day. Voting will start five days from now.

The Ranger must do three of the following:
1. The Ranger must be willing to forego Turkey and use Tofu instead to save a Turkey's life.
2. The Ranger must participate in the Union mission's feeding program not only at Thanksgiving but at Christmas also.
3. The Ranger must do all the dishes and pots and pans at his own home and 4 neighbors after the Thanksgiving meal.
4. The Ranger must save his allowance for six months and give it to a needy family.
5. The Ranger must write a 500 work essay on why he is thankful and read it before the Congregation.

Graditude must be demostrated. The ranger must develop a salute that expresses his graditude. The salute must include appropriate gestures, motions and posture that shows graditude (e.g. a foward roll into a single knee bow). The salute must include verbal skills as well. Extra points awarded for poetic phrasing. Extra points for incorporating sign language.

Proper use of graditude is used when passing a sharp implement. The Ranger must develop a list of ten unussual uses of graditude. (e.g. "Thank You" used as a diversion when asked an uncomfortable question, or "Thank you for your business" from customer no-service.)

5. To earn the Green Bordered Attitude of Gratitude merit, a boy will work with the boys in his Patrol to identify three blessings a Ranger boy has that are unique to his being a Christian. Together create a Passion Play that shows Ranger boys giving thanks to God for these three blessings, include the use of props and costumes. For the Advanced (Silver Bordered) Attitude of Gratitude merit, the Patrol will sell tickets to a showing of the play, giving the proceeds to the Sectional Commander asking him to use it to pay the way for underprivileged boys to go to Campout.

6. Memorize the words to the song "Count Your Blessings" and sing and/or hum them every waking moment without pause for 30 days and nights.

Extra points if'n people begin to flee when they see or hear you come'n.

When upon life's billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done

CHORUS:

Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God has done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God has done

Are you ever burdened
With a load of care
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will be singing
As the days go by

When you look at others
With their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
You His wealth untold
Count your many blessings
Money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
Nor your home on high

So, amid the conflict
Whether great or small
Do not be discouraged
God is over all
Count your many blessings
Angels will attend
Help and comfort give you
To your journey's end
